The vows of letting you go

I am thankful for the nice weather

and for having the courage of letting you go.

The coffee in the morning tastes

a little bitter, but this is what I like.

I let you go today

and I have to let you go tomorrow,

it is an everyday practice,

the same way it was a practice

to text you without expecting an answer.

I let you go when I smile,

although it is brief like a falling star,

and when the memory of your eyes comes

I do not chase it, I continue marching, discovering life.

I let you go today,

and I have to make the same vows tomorrow,

and for some months but

I know at one point the neon sign in my head

that is your name

is gonna turn off.
